Abstract:Objective To compare clinical effects of Mepilex Ag dressing and traditional dressing for elderly patients with stage Ⅱ,Ⅲ infectious pressure ulcers. Methods A total of 96 patients with stage Ⅱ,Ⅲ infectious pressure ulcers (unavoidable pressure ulcers) in authors, hospital form March 2013 to December 2015 were divided into observation group (n=48) and control group (n=48) according to the admission number. The observation group adopted Mepilex Ag dressing treatment, the control group adopted gauze and Bactroban ointment dressing. The negative rates of bacterial culture in wound were observed after 7, 14, 21 days treatment, and the scores of wound surface, wound healing time and frequency of changing dressings were observed after 7, 15 and 30 days treatment. Results The negative rates of bacterial culture in wound of observation group were higher these that of control group after 7, 14, 21 days treatment (P<0.05).The scores of wound surface of observation group were higher than those of control group (P<0.01), and the wound healing time and frequency of changing dressings of observation group were less than those of control group after 7, 15 and 30 days treatment(P<0.01).The treatment effect of observation group was better than that of control group (P<0.01).Conclusion Mepilex Ag dressings can reduce freguencies of changing dressings, shorten the healing time, and have good curative effect for stage II, III infectious pressure ulcers patients.
