Effect of New Type of Family Support Nursing Intervention on Improving Insulin Application Compliance for Type 2 Diabetes Patients of Xinjiang Uygur undergoing Elective Surgery

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of new type of family support nursing intervention on improving insulin application compliance for Xinjiang Uygur patients with type 2 diabetes undergoing elective surgery.Methods Three hundred Xinjiang Uygur patients with type 2 diabetes for elective surgery were randomly allocated to the new type of family support nursing intervention group and no intervention group.Prescribed insulin compliance,glycemic control and preoperative bed days were compared after 3 months of intervention.Results After 3 months of intervention,the patients' compliance to prescribed insulin was increased,the blood glucose levels were significantly decreased,and preoperative bed days were reduced effectively.Conclusion The new type of family support nursing model education can significantly improve Xinjiang Uygur patients with type 2 diabetes for undergoing elective surgery in prescribed insulin compliance,glycemic control and reduce preoperative bed days.
