Seismic Response Analysis of Large 3D Isolation Storage Tanks Subjected to Near Field Earthquake

Abstract：In order to study the dynamic response of three dimensional isolation tank subjected to near field earthquake, a finite element model of 15×104m3tank was established, and the ADINA software program was adopted. During the dynamic response analysis, the spring element was selected to simulate three-dimensional isolator, the horizontal and vertical near field ground motion were input respectively. The results show that: the seismic response of the large tank should consider the influence of the vertical earthquake.The three dimensional isolation system can effectively reduce the dynamic response,but has no control effect on the sloshing height.The amplitude of the sloshing height is very small, and can be ignored in actual engineering
