Analytical Research on The Comparison between Glulam Space Truss and Steel Space Truss

Abstract：A space truss model was established by using a program called SAP2000. The material of the model is glulam or steel. The objective of this research is to determine the feasibility of wood truss by comparing these two models made of different materials. Meanwile, the joint of truss is usually simplified as pinned joint or rigid joint, which is not a reasonable hypothesis, consequently, in this research, semi-rigid joint was used to model the factual joint circumstance. By drawing the comparisons between semi-rigid joint and pinned joint or rigid joint, some useful laws are desired to be obtained.
