Abstract:Objective:To explore the effectiveness of KAP health education based on Orem Self-Care Theory in enhancing self-management capabilities among patients with chronic atrophic gastritis. Methods:Selecting 106 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanhua University from March 2021 to November 2022 as study subjects, they were randomly divided into experimental group(n=53)and reference group(n=53).The reference group received routine nursing care intervention, while the experimental group additionally received KAP health education with Orem self-care theory based on the routine nursing care. The exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA),general self-efficacy,self-rated abilities for health proutice scale(SRAHP),Pittssburgh sleep qualith index(PSQI)and Connor-Davidson Presilience scale(CD-RISC)of the two patient groups were compared before and after the intervention, along with the incidence of adverse reactions. Results:After the intervention, the ESCA,GSES scores,SRAHP scores,PSQI scores, and psychological resilience scores of the experimental group patients were better(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the experimental group patients was lower(P<0.05).Conclusion:Health education based on Orem self-care theory can enhance self-management capabilities, improve health behavior capacity, enhance sleep quality, increase psychological resilience, reduce adverse reactions and recurrence rates among patients with chronic atrophic gastritis.
