Abstract:Objective:To explore the role of multidisciplinary team-based palliative care in patients with advanced lung cancer. Methods:A total of 94 patients with advanced lung cancer admitted to Zhumadian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between July 2021 and July 2023 were divided into the control group and the observation group using a random number table method, with 47 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group was given MDT collaborative palliative care.Mental health status,cancer-related fatigue, quality of life,end-of-life care quality, and hospitalization-related indicators were evaluated and compared between the two groups. Results:After nursing intervention, the scores of the Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90)and Piper Fatigue Scale(PFS)in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).The observation group showed significantly higher scores in all dimensions of the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF(WHOQOL-BREF)and end-of-life care quality compared with the control group(P<0.001).Additionally,the observation group had a shorter hospitalization duration and lower hospitalization costs than the control group(P<0.001).Conclusion:Multidisciplinary team-based palliative care can alleviate negative emotions in patients with advanced lung cancer, reduce their levels of cancer-related fatigue, promote improvements in quality of life, and thereby enhance the quality of end-oof-life care.
