Abstract:Objective:To study the role of project management in promoting multisectoral collaboration to improve the healthcare experience for breast cancer patients. Methods:A total of 140 breast cancer patients treated at the Breast Disease Center outpatient clinic, day treatment center, and inpatient department of Mianyang Central Hospital during the second quarter(April-June)and third quarter(July-September)of 2022 were selected as study subjects. They were randomly assigned to a control group and an intervention group, with 70 patients in each group. The control group received conventional medical management, while the intervention group specifically implemented a multidisciplinary collaboration strategy centered on project management. This approach aimed to optimize treatment plans and reduce treatment-related side effects through close coordination among a cross-disciplinary team of specialists. Results:Outpatient waiting times were significantly reduced in the intervention group, and both outpatient and inpatient satisfaction levels showed marked improvement, with all differences statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:A project management-driven collaboration model has effectively reduced patient wait times by optimizing resource allocation, thereby enhancing diagnostic and treatment efficiency and patient satisfaction, significantly improving the overall healthcare experience.
