Abstract:Objective:To observe the effects of total intravenous anesthesia on both mothers and newborns in the selection of anesthesia protocols for cesarean deliveries among primiparous women. Methods:Fifty primiparous women undergoing elective cesarean sections between December 2022 and January 2024 were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table. The control group received combined inhalation anesthesia with intravenous administration, while the observation group received total intravenous anesthesia, with 25 patients in each group. The hemodynamic fluctuations, neonatal Apgar scores, and cognitive function differences were compared between the two groups. Results:There was no statistically significant difference in blood oxygen saturation between the two groups of primiparous women at any time point(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in mean arterial pressure between the two groups of primiparous women at T0 and T3(P>0.05).The mean arterial pressure at T1 and T2 was higher in the observation group of primiparas than in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in heart rate between the two groups of primiparas at T0 and T3(P>0.05).The heart rate at T1 and T2 was lower in the observation group of primiparas than in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in Apgar scores between the two groups at 1 min and 5 min postpartum(P>0.05).The cognitive function scores of primiparous women in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The choice of total intravenous anesthesia for cesarean delivery relies entirely on intravenous anesthesia, which maintains stable hemodynamics, minimally impacts cognitive function in primiparous women, carries minimal risk of neonatal asphyxia, and ensures maternal and infant safety.
