Abstract:Objective:To investigate the consistency of gastric biopsy hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining and carbon 13 breath test in the detection of Helicobacter pylori(HP)infection. Methods:A total of 100 patients who underwent gastroscopy,HE staining of gastric mucosa biopsy and carbon 13 breath test in our hospital from May 2024 to September 2024 were selected as the research objects. The detection of HP infection by HE staining and carbon-13 breath test of gastric mucosa biopsy were analyzed, and the consistency of the two methods in detecting HP infection was compared. Results:Among the 100 patients,19(19%)were positive for HP infection diagnosed by gastric mucosal biopsy with HE staining, and 24(24%)were positive for carbon 13 breath test.Taking the results of HE staining of gastric mucosa biopsy as the"gold standard",the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of carbon 13 breath test in the diagnosis of HP infection were 89.47%,91.36%,91.00%,70.83%and 97.37%,respectively.The Kappa value of HE and carbon 13 breath test of gastric mucosa biopsy was 0.734.Conclusion:C-13 breath test is moderately consistent with HE staining of gastric mucosa biopsy in the diagnosis of HP infection. It can be used as an effective method for the detection of HP infection in clinical practice.
