Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of trastuzumab in combination with pertuzumab on the survival outcomes of patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-positive breast cancer. Methods:A cohort of 100 HER2-positive breast cancer patients treated at our hospital between March 2020 and March 2023 was included in this study. The patients were randomly divided into the trastuzumab group(n=50)and the combined group(n=50)by envelope drawing method. The trastuzumab group was treated with trastuzumab, while the combined group received trastuzumab and pertuzumab. The clinical efficacy,tumor-related indicators, adverse reactions, and survival rates of the two groups were compared after treatment. Results:After treatment, the disease control rate and overall efficacy rate of the combined group were higher than those of the trastuzumab group(P<0.05).The levels of carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125),carbohydrate antigen 153(CA153),and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)in the combined group were lower than those in the trastuzumab group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups, with statistically significant differences(P>0.05).The progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)of the combined group were higher than those of the trastuzumab group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of trastuzumab and pertuzumab has a significant impact on the survival of HER2-positive breast cancer patients.
