Abstract:Objective:To investigate the specific effects of combined treatment with nimodipine and flunarizine on migraine patients. Methods:A total of 100 migraine patients admitted to the Department of Neurology at Xixia County People's Hospital in Henan Province from February 2021 to February 2024 were selected as study subjects.Using a random number table, they were divided into two groups, with 50 patients in each group.Patients in the control group received flunarizine therapy, while patients in the intervention group received combined nimodipine and flunarizine therapy. Both groups underwent continuous treatment for 12 weeks.Clinical efficacy, seizure frequency, seizure duration, pain scores, cerebral hemodynamics[middle cerebral artery(MCA),posterior cerebral artery(PCA),anterior cerebral artery(ACA)],vascular endothelial function[endothelin(ET),nitric oxide(NO),serotonin(5-HT)],and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total response rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the pain scores, frequency of episodes, and duration were all significantly better than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(x2=7.162,t=5.902,6.686,31.583,P<0.05).After treatment,MCA,ACA,PCA,ET,NO,and 5-HT levels in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(t=1 2.747,6.704,6.951,13.449,15.012,17.328,P<0.05).Conclusion:Combination therapy with nimodipine and flunarizine effectively alleviates headache symptoms in migraine patients, shortens headache duration, reduces attack frequency, improves cerebral hemodynamics and vascular endothelial function, without increasing adverse reactions.
