Abstract:Objective:To explore the efficacy of progesterone combined with hysteroscopic surgery in the treatment of endometrial polyps and its impact on postoperative recurrence. Methods:A retrospective analysis of clinical data from 75 patients with endometrial polyps admitted to Xinyang Central Hospital between January 2021 and January 2023 was conducted.Based on different treatment modalities, patients were divided into an observation group(38 cases)and a control group(37 cases). The control group underwent hysteroscopic surgery alone, while the observation group received hysteroscopic surgery combined with progestin therapy. The levels of menstrual flow(PBAC)score, endometrial thickness, progesterone receptor, estrogen receptor, reproductive endocrine hormones including luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),and estradiol(E2)before and 6 months after surgery between the two groups,as well as the recurrence rate within 6 months after surgery were compared. Results:At 6 months postoperatively, patients in the observation group exhibited significantly lower endometrial thickness,PBAC scores, estrogen receptor levels,FSH,E2,and LH compared to the control group, while showing significantly higher progesterone receptor levels and recurrence rates, with all differences statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Hysteroscopic surgeiy combined with progestin therapy demonstrates significant efficacy in treating endometrial polyps. This approach reduces postoperative menstrual flow, regulates progesterone receptor, estrogen receptor, and reproductive endocrine hormone levels, improves endometrial thickness, and decreases postoperative recurrence.
