Clinical Effect of Zanghongqu with Zhibitai Capsule on Blood Fat and Carotid Artery Plaque in Patients with Carotid Atherosclerosis

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of Zanghongqu combined with Zhibitai Capsule on blood lipids and carotid plaques in patients with carotid atherosclerosis.Methods:A total of 84 patients with carotid atherosclerosis who were treated in the outpatient and hospitalized treatment of the Department of Cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January to December 2023 were selected as the research subjects,and were divided into two groups according to the intervention methods.The control group(42 cases)were treated with atorvastatin calcium tablets,while the observation group(42 cases)were treated with Zanghongqu combined with Zhibitai Capsule.The index changes in the two groups before and after the 12-week intervention were observed,including total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),triglyceride(TG),intracarotid medium thickness(IMT),and plaque area;adverse reactions after the intervention of the two groups were recorded.Results:The TC,TG and LDL-C levels of the two groups decreased significantly after intervention compared with those before intervention,while the HDL-C levels increased significantly,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).After the intervention,the IMT value of the two groups of patients decreased and the plaque area decreased.After the intervention,the TC,LDL-C and IMT values in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group,and there were statistical differences in the results(P＜0.05).However,there was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of TG,HDL-C levels and plaque area(P＞0.05).In addition,the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups was significantly different(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Zanghongqu combined with Zhibitai Capsules can reduce the blood lipid level of patients with carotid atherosclerosis and reduce carotid artery plaques,which is safer.
