Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of extracorporeal microwave tumor-focused hyperthermia combined with corticosteroids in the treatment of checkpoint inhibitor-related pneumonia(CIP).Methods:A total of 66 CIP patients admitted to Jiamusi Tumor Hospital between June 2023 and June 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group(corticosteroid therapy,33 cases)and an observation group(corticosteroids plus extracorporeal microwave tumor-focused hyperthermia,33 cases)using a random number table. The therapeutic efficacy, time to symptom/sign resolution, length of hospital stay, incidence of pulmonary fibrosis,Clinical-Radiological-Physiological(CRP)scores,and levels of serum inflammatory cytokines were compared between the two groups. Results:Compared to the control group, the observation group showed a higher overall response rate, shorter resolution times for fever, cough, sputum production, and chest CT lesion disappearance,a reduced length of hospital stay, and a lower incidence of pulmonary fibrosis, after treatment, both groups exhibited decreases in the clinical, radiological, and physiological scores of the CRP scale,as well as in serum levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),with the observation group demonstrating significantly lower values than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of extracorporeal microwave tumor-focused hyperthermia with corticosteroid therapy improves efficacy in CIP patients, shortens the time to clinical symptom/sign resolution, reduces the incidence of pulmonary fibrosis, alleviates inflammatory response, and promotes faster recovery.
