The Efficacy and Safety of 694 nm Dot Matrix Ruby Laser Combined with Tyrosinase Inhibitor Ointment in the Treatment of Melasma

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the efficacy and safety of 694 nm dot matrix ruby laser combined with tyrosinase inhibitor ointment in the treatment of melasma.Methods:A total of 80 patients with melasma admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University in 2023 were selected and randomly divided into two groups using a random number table,control group(40 cases)received conventional treatment and observation group(40 cases)received 694 nm dot matrix ruby laser combined with tyrosinase inhibitor ointment treatment.The treatment efficacy,incidence of adverse reactions,melasma area and severity index,and patient satisfaction were evaluated between the groups.Results:The curative effect was statistically analyzed,the total effective rate and satisfaction rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,while the adverse reactions were lower than those of the control group.The differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,re-evaluation of the two groups of patients revealed that both the melasma area and the severity index(MASI)score had decreased,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The use of 694 nm dot matrix ruby laser combined with tyrosinase inhibitor ointment for the treatment of patients with melasma has the effect of improving melasma symptoms,reducing adverse reactions,and increasing patient satisfaction.
