Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of total vaginal hysterectomy(TVH)combined with sacrospinous ligament fixation(SSLF)for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse(POP).Methods:A total of 82 patients with POP admitted to Henan Zhecheng Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between February 2021 and March 2023 were selected as study subjects.Using a random number table, they were divided into two groups of 41 patients each. The study group underwent TVH combined with SSLF,while the control group received conventional TVH combined with anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair.Perioperative indicators, pelvic floor function, pelvic organ prolapse status, complications, and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups. Results:The intraoperative blood loss in the study group was greater than that in the control group. The postoperative recurrence rate and complication rate, the score of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Impact Questionnaire(PFIQ-7),the score of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Questionnaire(PFDI-20),and the score of Pelvic floor Organ Prolapse Quantitative Classification Method(POP-Q)were all lower than those in the control group. The differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:TVH combined with SSLF therapy for POP effectively improves patients'pelvic floor function, reduces pelvic organ prolapse, helps lower recurrence rates, and offers a high level of safety.
