Abstract:Objective:To explore the influencing factors of medication adherence in tuberculosis patients based on the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)analysis. Methods:Select 60 hospitalized or outpatient patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who were admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Pingxiang City from January to December 2023,collect data, and use the TPB framework to analyze the factors affecting medication adherence. Results:Among the 60 patients,33(55.00%)had good medication adherence, while 27(45.00%)had poor medication adherence;there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05)in medication adherence among tuberculosis patients of different ages, educational backgrounds, treatment categories, disease duration, monthly income, medication types, and social support. The results of structural equation modeling analysis show that social support has the greatest effect on medication adherence, followed by behavioral intention and attitude towards medication.Subjective norms have the greatest impact on behavioral intention, followed by control ability and attitude towards medication. Conclusion:The medication adherence of tuberculosis patients needs to be improved. The model constructed based on TPB suggests that the key to improving medication adherence through modification is to enhance the patients'social support network, and age, education level, treatment classification, disease duration, monthly income, and medication type also have a certain impact on patient medication adherence.
