Analysis of the Epidemiological Characteristics of Influenza in Liurong Subdistrict,Yuexiu District,Guangzhou City from 2019 to 2023

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of influenza in Liurong Street,Yuexiu District,Guangzhou City,and provide scientific basis for the formulation of influenza prevention and control measures.Methods:A descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted using influenza case data from Liurong Street,Yuexiu District,Guangzhou City,from 2019 to 2023.Results:Liurong Street in Yuexiu District,Guangzhou City,reported a total of 6 700 cases of influenza,with an average annual incidence rate of 1 706.12/100 000.The incidence rates for each year ranged from 86.48/100 000 to 4 390.74/100 000.The incidence of the disease exhibits significant seasonal fluctuations,with three distinct peaks:a winter peak in December and two smaller peaks in April and June during the spring and summer seasons.The top five residential committees in terms of regional distribution were Shuangjing,Lanhuli,Jiaheyuan,Xinglongdong,and Liuhuahu.The annual incidence rate for males was 1 741.14/100 000,and for females,1 670.96/100 000,with no statistically significant difference(P＞0.05).The majority of cases were concentrated in the 6-15 age group(40.16%),with students accounting for 44.78%of cases.The predominant viral type was influenza A virus(73.15%).Conclusion:The key population for influenza prevention and control in Liurong Street,Yuexiu District,Guangzhou City,is children and students aged 15 and under.The key seasons for prevention and control are spring,summer,and winter.Before the peak of the influenza epidemic,it is necessary to strengthen monitoring of the key population and influenza vaccination.Conducting an analysis of the characteristics of the influenza epidemic can help formulate better prevention and control measures.
