The epidemiological and Clinical Characteristics of 120 Patients with Brucellosis

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 120 patients with brucellosis,and to provide a theoretical basis for early clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods:A total of 120 patients with brucellosis admitted to our hospital from 2021 to 2023 were selected as research subjects,and the epidemiology,clinical manifestations,laboratory tests,etiology,and treatment regimens were retrospectively analyzed.Results:Among the 120 patients with brucellosis,the time from onset to treatment ranged from 1 d to more than 1 year,and 60%of the patients had onset for more than 15 d.The incidence was seasonal and could occur throughout the year,with the highest number of cases from April to August;the proportion of male and female patients was 2.33∶1,the proportion of middle-aged and elderly people was high,and 73.33%of the patients had a clear history of contact with sheep,cattle and pigs.In terms of clinical features,most patients had fever,fatigue,arthralgia,and low back pain,and a few patients had testicular pain,spleen,and lymphadenopathy.Among the experimental indicators,leukocytes and neutrophils were elevated,and the proportion of erythrocytes,hemoglobin,platelets,and lymphocytes was less,while the proportion of procalcitonin,C-reactive protein,and erythrocyte sedimentation rate was higher,and nearly 50%of patients had liver damage,and the positive rate of antibody detection was 100%,and 59.17%of blood cultures were positive.Conclusion:In the prevention of brucellosis,the epidemic prevention ability of rural areas and farmers'awareness of the hazards of brucellosis should be strengthened in spring and summer;in the diagnosis of brucellosis,the differential diagnosis ability of clinicians should be improved firstly,and secondly,the comprehensive evaluation of clinical characteristics,laboratory indicators and epidemiology should be combined.
