A Study on the Effects of Non-invasive Ventilation on Blood Gas Indicators,Inflammatory Factors,and Prognosis in Patients with Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Type Ⅱ Respiratory Failure

Abstract：Objective:To explore the application effect of non-invasive ventilation in the acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(CPOD)complicated with type Ⅱ respiratory failure.Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 60 patients with acute exacerbation of COPD complicated with type Ⅱ respiratory failure admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Luohe from January to December 2023.The patients were divided into a control group(conventional treatment,30 cases)and a study group(conventional treatment combined with non-invasive ventilator treatment,30 cases)according to different treatment plans.Comparing the blood gas indicators and peripheral blood neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NRL),C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6),and D-dimer(D-D)expression levels between two groups of patients before treatment,and using chronic obstructive pulmonary disease assessment test(CAT)to compare the prognosis of the two groups of patients.Results:After treatment,the arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)in the study group was lower than that in the control group,while PaO2 and arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2)were higher than those in the control group,the levels of partial pressure of carbon dioxide in arterial blood(PaCO2),NRL,CRP,IL-6,D-D,and CAT score of the study group was lower than that of the control group;the differences were all statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Implementing non-invasive ventilator-assisted ventilation in patients with COPD acute exacerbation complicated by type Ⅱ respiratory failure can improve their oxygenation status,reduce their systemic inflammatory response,and subsequently ameliorate their condition and prognosis.
