Abstract:Objective:To analyze the role of biomarker combinations in the diagnosis of sepsis. Methods:A total of 300 patients with systemic inflammatory response syndrome admitted to the First People's Hospital of Nanyang City from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects. All patients were divided into a sepsis group(207 cases)and a non-sepsis group(93 cases)based on sepsis diagnosis. All patients were further categorized based on the severity of sepsis into mild 100 cases, moderate 60 cases, and severe(including septic shock)47 cases. The logistic regression analysis was used to identify independent factors for the diagnosis of sepsis and severe sepsis, and to create the optimal combination of biomarkers. The diagnostic performance of the biomarker combination and the individual application of different biomarkers was analyzed using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.Results:Procalcitonin(PCT),interleukin-6(IL-6),and D-dimer(D-D)are independent factors for diagnosing sepsis. The AUC of the biomarker combination is significantly higher than that of the three indicators used individually, and the sensitivity and specificity of the combination are also significantly higher than those of individual use.PCT,C-reactive protein(CRP),IL-6,D-D,B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP),and the proportion of rod-shaped neutrophils were compared as follows:non-sepsis group<mild sepsis group<moderate sepsis group<severe sepsis group(P<0.05).Conclusion:When clinically diagnosing sepsis, the use of a combination of biomarkers(PCT,IL-6,D-D)can improve the diagnostic accuracy of sepsis.
