Study on the Effect of Evodiae Fructus External Application Combined with Acupoint Massage to Promote Postoperative Gastrointestinal Function Rehabilitation in Patients with Uterine Fibroids

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of external application of evodiae fructus combined with acupoint massage on the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients with uterine fibroids after surgery.Methods:From May 2021 to October 2023,82 patients with uterine fibroids who underwent surgery in Zhumadian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into control group(n=41)and observation group(n=41)using the random number table method.The patients of control group were provided with conventional care,and on this basis,the patients of observation group additionally took external application of evodiae fructus combined with acupoint massage.The comparisons were made on gastrointestinal recovery,gastrointestinal function[Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale(GSRS)score],comfort score[Kolcaba General Comfort Questionnaire(GCQ)],quality of life[SF-36 Health Survey Brief(SF-36)],and nursing satisfaction in both groups.Results:After nursing,the observation group had shorter time of bowel sound,first exhaust and the first defecation than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);the observation group achieved better scores of gastrointestinal function,comfort and quality of life compared with the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);the observation group achieved higher nursing satisfaction compared to the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Postoperative external application of evodiae fructus combined with acupoint massage can accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function,improve comfort,quality of life,and nursing satisfaction in patients with uterine fibroids.
