Study on the Diagnostic Value of Serum CA125,CEA,SCC,and AFP in Cervical Cancer Diagnosis

Abstract：Objective:To explore the diagnostic value of serum cancer antigen 125(CA125),carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC),and alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)in the diagnosis of cervical cancer.Methods:A total of 128 patients who visited the Second People's Hospital of Xiangcheng District,Suzhou City,from June 2023 to August 2024 were selected as study objects,including 78 cervical cancer patients(cervical cancer group)and 50 patients with cervical precancerous lesions(precancerous lesion group).Additionally,30 healthy women who underwent physical examinations during the same period were selected as the control group.Chemiluminescence immunoassay was used to measure the levels of CA125,CEA,SCC,and AFP in the three groups of patients,and the diagnostic performance of each serum marker for cervical cancer was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.Results:Serum levels of CA125,CEA,SCC,and AFP were higher in the cervical cancer group than in the precancerous lesion group and the control group.Tumor marker levels were higher in the precancerous lesion group than in the control group,with all differences being statistically significant(P＜0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the single detection of SCC had the best diagnostic performance,with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.832,a cutoff value of 4.64 ng/mL,a sensitivity of 78.20%,and a specificity of 88.00%.The AUC for the combined detection of the four markers was 0.964.Conclusion:Combined testing of serum SCC,CA125,CEA,and AFP could significantly improve the diagnostic accuracy of cervical cancer,which not only helps to identify cervical cancer at early stage but also provides more comprehensive disease monitoring information to support clinical decision-making.
