Abstract:Objective:To investigate knowledge level of pressure injury among nurses, and to provide the basis for the formulation of the training program. Methods:The cross-sectional investigation was conducted on knowledge level of pressure injury among 356 nurses in 3 tertiary hospitals in Shanghai using the pressure injury knowledge assessment questionnaire. The nurses with different knowledge levels were classified and their general characteristics were analyzed by cluster analysis. Results:The knowledge score for pressure injuries among 356 nurses was(42.36±12.28)points.Based on their knowledge levels, they were clustered into three subtypes. The potential sources of knowledge for the three types of nurses were inferred according to the levels of knowledge in relevant dimensions and named accordingly as Type I experience-led,Type II academic education-led,and Type III training-led.There were statistically significant differences among the three types of nurses in terms of years of work, professional titles, whether they had participated in relevant training, age, whether they had specialized work experience, and educational background(P<0.05);there were no statistically significant differences in terms of gender and work department(P>0.05).Conclusion:Dividing nurses with different knowledge levels into different subtypes by cluster analysis, which will provide a reference for managers to formulate evidence-oriented training programs,to improve the pertinence and effectiveness of the training.
