Abstract:Objective:To investigate the short-term efficacy of endoscopic thyroid surgery via submental approach in the treatment of papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods:From October 2021 to December 2023,62 patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma were selected from Xuchang People's Hospital and divided into the submental group(endoscopic thyroidectomy via submental approach,31 cases)and open group(submental conventional open thyroidectomy,31 cases). The intraoperative and postoperative dates between these two groups were compared. Results:Compared with the patients in open group, the cavity-building time, operation time and the dissection time of central lymph nodes in submental group were significant longer, and the difference was statistical significant(t=4.624,9.684,2.318;P<0.05).There were differences in visual analogue pain score(VAS)after 2 days of operation, vancouver scar rating scale(VSS)score and satisfaction score between the two groups, and the difference was statistical significant(t=-3.441,-4.680,6.336;P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the overall complication rate between these two groups of patients(χ2=-1.667;P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with COT,ETSA removes a larger number of lymph nodes in the central region, and ensures efficacy and worthy cosmetic results.
