Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of bladder scanner plus intermittent catheterization(IC)in patients with post-stroke neurogenic bladder(PSNB).Methods:A total of 168 PSNB patients from January 2021 to December 2023 were included and grouped into two groups(84 cased in each group)according to random number table method.Patients in the Control group were given IC,while patients in the observation group were given bladder scanner and IC.The urination, urinary dynamics indexes,Health Survey Scale 36(SF-36),symptoms of international lower urinary tract syndrome(LUTS),and complications in these two groups were compared. Results:After 4 weeks of intervention, the average daily urine leakage times and average daily urination times in observation group were less than the control group, while the average daily urine volume was more than the control group, and the differences were all statistically significant(t=15.709,5.391,92.276;P<0.05).After 4 weeks of intervention,Pdet.max and LUTS were lower,BC,Qmax and SF-36 were higher, and the difference was statistically significant(t=10.089,30.967,11.684;P<0.05).After 4 weeks of intervention, the SF-36 patients in the observation group was higher than the control group, where LUTS scores in the observation group were lower than the control group, and the differences were all statistically significant(t=6.884,18.406;P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the complication rate in the observation group was lower, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=9.197,P<0.05).Conclusion:The use of bladder scanner+IC in PSNB patients can improve urinary status, urinary motivation index, reduce complications, reduce LUTS score, and improve quality of life, which results in less complication.
