Abstract:Objective:To explore the application value of short-term functional malleable training in children undergoing intermittent exotropia correction surgery. Methods:A total of 80 children who underwent intermittent exotropia correction surgery in Zhengzhou Second People's Hospital from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected as study objects and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The children in the control group received conventional training, while those in the observation group received short-term malleable functional training. The training time for both groups of children was 12 weeks. The average fusion value, visual function reconstruction, stereoscopic vision recovery, eye position, eye position regression rate and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results:After 3 months of intervention, the average fusion value, visual function reconstruction, stereoscopic vision recovery, the proportion of correct vision, and the scores of the Short Form 36 Health Survey(SF-36)of the patients in the observation group were all higher than the control group, while the proportions of overcorrection and undercorrection and the rate of eye position regression were lower than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Short-term functional malleable training can promote the postoperative visual function reconstruction of children undergoing intermittent exotropia correction surgery, and effectively reduce the rate of eye position regression. It is conducive to improving the quality of life of children.
