Effect of Estrogen and Progesterone Sequential Therapy on Adolescent Abnormal Uterine Bleeding and Its Influence on Hemoglobin Level and Endometrial Thickness

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of estrogen and progesterone sequential therapy on abnormal uterine bleeding in adolescence and its influence on hemoglobin level and endometrial thickness.Methods:A total of 106 patients with abnormal uterine bleeding during adolescence admitted to the 83rd Group Army Hospital of the People's Liberation Army of China from September 2021 to September 2024 were selected as the study objects and randomly divided into single group(53 cases)and sequential group(53 cases).The single group received single estrogen treatment,and the sequential group received sequential estrogen and progesterone therapy.The clinical efficacy,bleeding control,menstrual volume,endometrial thickness,hemoglobin level,sex hormone indicators and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.Results:The total effective rate of the sequential group was higher than that of the single group,and the bleeding control time and complete hemostasis time were shorter than those of the single group,with statistically significant difference(χ2=3.975,t=3.732,10.100;P＜0.05).After the treatment,the menstrual volume and endometrial thickness in the sequential group were lower than those in the single group,and the hemoglobin level and sex hormone indicators were all lower than those in the single group,with statistically significant difference(t=18.891,25.594,4.998,18.550,14.184,13.142,13.580;P＜0.001).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(χ2=2.163;P＞0.05).Conclusion:The sequential therapy of estrogen and progesterone has remarkable effect in the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding during adolescence.It can effectively control bleeding,regulate sex hormone levels,improve hemoglobin levels and endometrial thickness,and has good safety.
