Comparative Analysis of Colloidal Gold Method and Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay for Detection of AIDS Virus(HIV)Antibody
Guo Xinfang
Abstract:Objective:To test the role of colloidal gold method and enzyme-linked immunoassay(ELISA)in HIV.Methods:133 blood samples from the center were positive for HIV screening. All blood samples were divided into group A(48),B(40)and C(45).Group A was tested by the colloidal gold method twice,Group B was tested by the ELISA twice, and Group C was tested by the colloidal gold method and the ELISA respectively.Protein printing(Western Blot,WB)was used as the gold standard to calculate diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and compliance rate. Results:Kappa value=0.37 for colloidal gold method.Kappa value for ELISA secondary check for HIV was 0.41.Kappa value=0.73 for colloidal gold method and ELISA.The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy were 83.33%,66.67%,94.59%,36.36%and 81.25%.In group B,the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were 88.58%,60.00%,93.94%,42.86%and 85.00%.The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy were 94.87%,83.33%,97.37%,71.43%and 93.33%.Conclusion:The application of colloidal gold method and ELISA re-examination for HIV antibody detection has a relatively high diagnostic efficacy.
