Relationship Between Serum CA125 Level and Therapeutic Effect for Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Transarterial Chemoembolizationin

Abstract：Objective:To explore the association between serum CA125 level and therapeutic effect in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)after transarterial chemoembolization(TACE).Methods:A total of 86 HCC patients who received TACE treatment in Xinyang Central Hospital from January 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into the low CA125 group and the high CA125 group according to the preoperative CA125 level,with 43 cases in each group.CA125 was determined again one month after surgery,and CT/MRI was performed to evaluate the curative effect.ROC curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of CA125 in the treatment of HCC by TACE.All patients were followed up for 18 months after TACE.Kaplan-Meier method was used to show the influence of preoperative CA125 on survival time.Results:The comparisons of serum CA125 levels,tumor size and distant metastasis between the two groups showed statistically significant differences(t=7.990,-2.052,P＜0.05;χ2=4.440,P＜0.05).The overall level of CA125 in HCC patients after surgery and the serum CA125 level of effective patients were lower than those before surgery,and the differences were statistically significant(z=-3.041,-3.271;P＜0.05).The AUC of serum CA125 in the evaluation of the effectiveness of HCC patients was 0.728(95%CI:0.551-0.906),with a sensitivity of 0.727 and a specificity of 0.707.After 18 months follow-up,the median survival time of patients in the high CA125 group was tower than the low CA125 group,and difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Serum CA125 level can be used as an indicator to predict the outcome and prognosis of HCC treated with TACE,to providea basis for individualized treatment of patients.
