Abstract:Objective:To explore the application value of multimodal magnetic resonance imaging(MMRI)in the diagnosis of lacunar cerebral infarction.Methods:92 patients with lacunar cerebral infarction from Taizhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as study subjects. All patients underwent multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT)and multimodal magnetic resonance imaging(MMRI).The diagnostic efficacy, examination time, cost and image characteristics were collected and analyzed. Results:MMRI detected a total of 217 lesions, whereas MSCT detected 141 lesions. The lesions were primarily concentrated in the frontal lobe, basal ganglia and parietal lobe.MMRI showed higher diagnostic efficacy.MSCT examination time and cost were significantly lower than those of MMRI(t=87.672,161.001;P<0.05).MSCT revealed lacunar cerebral infarction as small low-density areas in the frontal lobe, basal ganglia and parietal lobe regions with indistinct boundaries, reflecting chronic ischemia and microvascular injury. In MMRI,the infarct areas showed high signals in T2-weighted imaging, low signals in T1-weighted imaging, and early high signals in diffusion-weighted imaging reflecting cytotoxic edema.Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery sequence helped to more clearly identify the boundaries between infarcts and surrounding tissues, while susceptibility-weighted imaging could detect microbleeds or iron deposition. Conclusion:Multimodal magnetic resonance imaging demonstrates higher diagnostic performance in the diagnosis of lacunar infarction.Despite higher examination costs and time, its detailed imaging characteristics provide more diagnostic information, facilitating more accurate evaluation and diagnosis of lacunar infarction.
