Abstract:Objective:To explore the effects of pain management with caregivers participation on postoperative pain and sleep quality in children with tonsil and adenoid hypertrophy.Methods:120 children with Adenoid hypertrophy of tonsil in the hospital were enrolled as the research objects from May 2021 to May 2024.According to random number table method, they were divided into observation group and control group, with 60 cases in each group. The children in the control group received standardized perioperative care, while the children in the observation group received the caregiver participation pain management model. The perioperative indexes, scores of postoperative pain, sleep quality, and occurrence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:The eye opening time, respiratory recovery time and length of hospital stay in observation group were shorter than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(t=7.797,8.334,8.246;P<0.05).3 days and 5 days after operation, the VAS scores of the children in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=9.085,6.447;P<0.001).After intervention, the scores of each dimension of OS-18 in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=4.558,4.860,2.965,6.032,3.566;P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.615,P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of caregiver participation in pain management to children with tonsillar adenoid hypertrophy can significantly improve their postoperative conditions.
