Study on the Effect of Functional Appliance in the Treatment of Children with Skeletal Angle Ⅱ 1 Malocclusion During Dental Replacement

Abstract：Objective:To observe the effect of functional appliance in the treatment of children with bone Angle Ⅱ 1 malocclusion.Methods:A total of 18 children with bone Angle Ⅱ 1 malocclusion diagnosed and treated in the oral outpatient department of the hospital from May to December 2022 were selected as the study objects.Through self-control,functional appliance was used for 12 months,and the cephalic image measurement and positioning lateral film taken before and after correction were analyzed.SPSS 19.0 software was used to analyze the measured values.Satisfaction and the changes of oral knowledge and behavior of the children were analyzed through a questionnaire survey.Results:After 12 months of treatment,the convex shape became basically straight face.The relationship between cusp and molar was basically neutral.The measured values SNB and ANB,Wits value,U1-SN,U1-NA,U1-NA distance and OJ value decreased.U1-L1,Z Angle,TUL-E distance,SPP-SPPW,U-MPW and TB-TPPW increased had significant changes(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in SNA,FH-MP and SN-MP increased,TUL-E line distance decreased,and L1-MP Angle,L1-NB Angle and L1-NB distance(P＞0.05).The satisfaction of correction was 100％,and the visible plaque detection rate decreased significantly.Conclusion:After the use of functional orthodontic appliances for children with skeletal Angle Ⅱ 1 malocclusion deformity.The facial shape is significantly improved.The overall function of the oral and maxillofacial system are improved.The adolescent children and their parents are satisfied.And good oral hygiene habits are developed during the orthodontic process.
