Effect of Ertugliflozin on Aldosterone/Renin Ratio of Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Complicated with Hypertension

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of ertugliflozin on aldosterone/renin ratio(ARR)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with hypertension.Methods:Patients with T2DM and hypertension admitted to the Department of Endocrinology,Guangzhou First People's Hospital from September 2022 to September 2023 were selected.Body weight,fasting blood glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),Trigly cerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-denisity lipoprotain cholesterol(HDL-C),uric acid(UA),aldosterone renin,angiotesin Ⅱ,serum potassium,creatinine,etc.were measured and recorded before treatment,and ARR was calculated.Patients were treated with ertugliflozin for 12 weeks,and hematologic indicators were collected again while ARR was also calculated.Results:ARR before and after treatment were(7.19±1.61)and(7.58±1.71).There was no significant difference between them(t=0.68,P＞0.05).After the treatment of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors,body weight,BMI,systolic pressure,FPG,HbA1C,TG and UA were decreased significantly compared with baseline,with statistically significant difference(Z=-3.78,-3.24,-4.56,-4.61,-3.22;t=-5.64,-2.56;P＜0.05).During the treatment,no adverse reactions such as constipation,nausea and vomiting,abdominal pain,influenza,and hyperkalemia occurred in all patients.Conclusion:Ertugliflozin has no effect on ARR value in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with hypertension,but it has good effects on reducing FPG,uric acid and weight loss.
