Abstract:Objective:To compare the effects of sitagliptin and vigagliptin dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4)inhibitors on blood glucose and blood lipid in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods:A cohort of 150 type 2 diabetes patients who attended the hospital from February 2021 and February 2023 was randomly assigned into two groups. The control group(n=75)received sitagliptin, while the experimental group(n=75)underwent vildagliptin therapy for 12 weeks.Measurements of fasting blood glucose(FPG),glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were taken before treatment and 12 weeks after treatment to monitor changes and assess adverse effects. Results:After treatment, the levels of FPG and HbA1c in sitagliptin group and vigagliptin group were decreased, and the levels of FPG and HbA1c in Vigagliptin group were significantly lower than those in sitagliptin group, with statistically significant difference(t=3.707,4.602;P<0.05).The levels of TC and LDL-C in Vigagliptin group were significantly lower than those in sitagliptin group, with statistically significant difference(t=3.239,3.636;P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(χ2=0.150,P>0.05).Conclusion:Both sitagliptin and vildagliptin are effective in enhancing glycemic and lipid control in individuals with type 2 diabetes, with vildagliptin showing more substantial effect on regulation. They are both well-received by patients, offering fresh alternatives for clinical therapy selection.
