Abstract:Objective:To investigate the risk factors associated with fall risk in patients with Parkinson's disease(PD).Methods:A cohort of PD patients who visited the clinic from January 2019 to December 2023 was included in the study.72 PD patients with a history of falls in the three months prior to the clinical investigation were assigned to the fall group, while 144 PD patients without a history of falls during the same period were assigned to the non-fall group.Clinical data were collected for all patients. The Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale Part Ⅲ(UPDRS-Ⅲ)was used to assess motor impairment, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was used to evaluate sleep disturbances, the Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)was used to assess cognitive function, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)was used to assess emotional status.Additionally,24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring was used to record the coefficients of variation for systolic and diastolic blood pressure.Univariate and multivariate regression analysis were performed to identify factors influencing fall risk in PD patients. Results:The fall group had significantly higher age,UPDRS-Ⅲ scores and coefficients of variation for both systolic and diastolic blood pressure(t=4.75,9.71,26.19,2.75;P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis revealed that age,UPDRS-Ⅲ score, systolic blood pressure variability and diastolic blood pressure variability were significant risk factors for falls in PD patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:By taking into account various factors such as age,UPDRS-Ⅲ scores and blood pressure variability, and implementing personalized intervention measures, the risk of falls in patients with Parkinson's disease can be effectively reduced, and their quality of life can be improved.
