Analysis of the Effectiveness of Orthodontic Traction in the Treatment of Crowded Teeth Combined with Severe Periodontal Disease

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical effectiveness of orthodontic traction therapy in managing patients with severe periodontal disease combined with crowded teeth.Methods:Samples were collected from January 2022 to January 2023 in the hospital.All cases were diagnosed with severe periodontal disease combined with crowded teeth.A total of 32 cases were included,all of whom underwent orthodontic traction therapy.Statistical analysis was conducted on the overall treatment effectiveness rate,quality of life,periodontal indicators and treatment satisfaction of the patients.Results:The overall treatment effectiveness rate for all 32 patients was 100％,and the overall treatment satisfaction rate among the 32 patients was 100％.Quality of life scores,such as chewing function,dental aesthetics,positive feelings and general health level,were significantly higher than those before treatment,with statistically significant difference(t=36.326,39.628,41.153,28.371;P<0.05).Plaque index,tooth mobility and gingival index were significantly lower than before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(t=4.039,6.329,5.392;P<0.05).Conclusion:Orthodontic traction therapy is effective in managing patients with severe periodontal disease combined with crowded teeth,contributing significantly to improving periodontal health status and enhancing quality of life.
