Effect of Breast Conserving Surgery Combined with Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in the Treatment of Early Breast Cancer

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of breast conserving surgery combined with sentinel lymph node biopsy in early breast cancer(EBC)patients.Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 86 patients with EBC admitted to the Department of General Surgery at Linzhou People's Hospital from June 2021 to January 2023.They were divided into two groups according to different surgical methods.The control group(43 cases)underwent modified radical surgery,while the observation group(43 cases)underwent breast conserving surgery combined with sentinel lymph node biopsy.Both groups were followed up for 6 months.Perioperative indicators,incidence of complications,quality of life and satisfaction with breast aesthetics between two groups were compared.Results:Compared with the control group,the operation time of observation group was longer,the intraoperative blood loss and total drainage volume were less,and the axillary extubation and hospitalization time were shorter,with statistically significant difference(t=15.717,18.885,24.661,15.240,10.239;P<0.05).The complication rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.074,P<0.05).After nursing,the symptom dimension score of QLQ-BR23 in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the functional dimension score was higher than that in the control group,with statistically significant difference(t=7.068,4.264;P<0.05).The satisfaction of breast aesthetics in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.460,P<0.05).Conclusion:Implementing breast conserving surgery and sentinel lymph node biopsy for EBC patients can improve their perioperative indicators,reduce the risk of complications,improve their quality of life,and increase patient satisfaction with breast aesthetics.
