Comparative Study on Postoperative Psychological Status Between Endoscopic Thyroid Surgery and Open Thyroid Surgery Patients

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effects of laparoscopic thyroidectomy and open thyroidectomy on patients'negative emotions,sleep quality,postoperative pain,and recovery.Methods:A retrospective case-control study was conducted on 80 patients who underwent endoscopic or open thyroidectomy in the hospital from March to December 2023.The patients were divided into the endoscopic group and the open group,with 40 cases each.The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)were used to assess patients'negative emotions and sleep quality.The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)was used to evaluate postoperative pain.The number of days with drainage tubes,the time to start rehabilitation exercises,length of hospital stay and surgical satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results:After operation,SAS score,SDS score,PSQI total score,sleep quality,falling asleep time,sleep time,sleep efficiency,sleep disorder and daytime dysfunction scores in two groups were significantly higher than before operation.VAS scores in the endoscopic group 2 h,12 h,24 h and 48 h after surgery were lower than those in the open group,with statistically significant difference(t=2.014,3.694,4.820,4.674;P＜0.05).The number of days with tube and the beginning days of rehabilitation exercise in endoscopy group were less than those in open group,and the differences were statistically significant(t=3.581,5.302;P＜0.05).The surgical satisfaction rate in the endoscopic group was higher than that in the open group,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=595.5,P＜0.05).Conclusion:Compared with open thyroidectomy,laparoscopic thyroidectomy can alleviate patients'postoperative negative emotions,improve sleep quality,relieve postoperative pain,accelerate postoperative recovery,and enhance patient satisfaction.
