Efficacy of Lorazepam Combined with Sertraline in the Treatment of Post-stroke Depression

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical effect of lorazepam combined with sertraline in the treatment of post-stroke depression.Methods:68 patients with post-stroke depression recruited from Huanghe Hospital in Tianjin were enrolled in this study and randomly assigned to two groups with a random number table:the control group(n=34,receiving sertraline orally)and the treatment group(n=34,receiving a combination of lorazepam and sertraline orally).The mental states,quality of life,and the incidence of adverse effects of two groups were compared.Results:After treatment,SAS and SDS scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(t=-38.73,22.20;P＜0.05).After treatment,emotional function,social function,physical pain and mental health scores in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(t=11.528,12.934,13.025,12.659;P＜0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in treatment group was lower than that in control group,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=3.530,P＜0.05).Conclusion:The combination therapy of lorazepam with sertraline in patients with post-stroke depression(PSD)can improve mental states,enhance quality of life,and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.It has good safety and significant clinical efficacy.
