Abstract:Objective:To analyze the effect and prognosis of radical endoscopic sinus surgery in the treatment of eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. Methods:A total of 80 patients with eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps admitted to Nanyang Central Hospital from December 2022 to December 2023 were selected for retrospective analysis.39 patients who underwent functional endoscopic sinus surgery were selected as functional treatment group, and 41 patients who underwent radical endoscopic sinus surgery were selected as radical treatment group. The short-term efficacy, nasal airway resistance, olfactory function, infection, recurrence and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results:There was no significant difference in short-term postoperative efficacy between the two groups(χ2=3.420;P>0.05).1 week and 2 months after surgery, the nasal airway resistance in the radical treatment group was lower than that in the functional treatment group, with statistically significant difference(t=3.354,7.112;P<0.05).1 week,1 month and 2 months after surgery, the olfactory function scores of the radical treatment group were lower than those of the functional treatment group, with statistically significant difference(t=3.021,3.951,6.027;P<0.05).1 week,1 month and 2 months after surgery, the score of nasal endoscopy in the radical treatment group was lower than that in the functional treatment group, with statistically significant difference(t=2.650,5.391,7.324;P<0.05).6 months after surgery,SNOT-22 scores of both groups were significantly lower than those before surgery, and the difference was statistically significant(t=0.299,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in postoperative infection and recurrence between the two groups(χ2=0.833,2.066;P>0.05).Conclusion:Radical endoscopic sinus surgery is superior to functional endoscopic sinus surgery in improving nasal airway resistance and olfactory function in patients with eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. There is no significant difference between the two surgical methods in short-term efficacy, infection and recurrence.
