Effect and Safety of Betahistine Combined with Dexamethasone in the Treatment of Vestibular Peripheral Vertigo

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the effect and safety of betahistine combined with dexamethasone in the treatment of vestibular peripheral vertigo.Methods:160 patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo who were admitted to the People's Hospital of Yudu County from June 2020 to September 2023 were divided into the control group and the observation group,with the random number table method.Clinical effect,symptoms,physiological stress response,sleep quality,and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.Results:Compared with the control group,the study group had higher clinical response rate(x2=4.414,P＜0.05).After treatment,the clinical symptom score of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(t=20.317,30.451,32.844,17.434;P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of heart rate(HR),diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and systolic blood pressure(SBP)in study group were significantly lower than those in control group,with statistically significant difference(t=5.269,7.393,13.799;P＜0.05).After treatment,the Pittsburgh sleep quality index of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(t=27.781,32.928,45.808,21.024,29.623,29.987,25.913,20.746;P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(x2=2.500,P＞0.05).Conclusion:Compared with treatment with betahistine alone,the combined treatment with betahistine and dexamethasone is more effective in the treatment of vestibular peripheral vertigo,which can relieve symptoms;lower HR,DBP and SBP;and improve sleep quality.It is safety.
