Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of endoscopic low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation(RFA)on speech changes and vocal mucosal recovery in patients with early glottic carcinoma. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 82 patients with early glottic carcinoma treated in the hospital from October 2021 to October 2022.They were divided into control group(41 cases)and observation group(41 cases)based on different treatment methods. The control group received open partial laryngectomy treatment, while the observation group received endoscopic PRFA treatment.Perioperative indicators, speech changes, vocal mucosal healing score, pain level, voice function, complications, and recurrence between two groups were compared. Results:The duration of operation and hospitalization in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the amount of intraoperative blood loss was less than that in the control group, the harmonic to noise ratio of the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the fundamental frequency perturbation and amplitude perturbation were lower than that in the control group, and the scores of the postoperative vocal cord mucosal healing, visual analog scale(VAS)and voice disturbance index scale(VHI)were lower than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(t=21.763,4.572,25.622,2.816,2.739,4.919,3.424,5.985,5.067;P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in observation group was lower than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant(x2=5.145,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in recurrence rate between the two groups(x2=0.139,P>0.05).Conclusion:Early glottic carcinoma patients treated with endoscopic PRFA can promote vocal mucosal recovery, and improve speech function, with minimal damage, fewer complications, and no increase in postoperative recurrence rate.
