Expression of EphB3 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma and its Relationship with Clinical Characteristics of Patients

Abstract：Objective:To explore the expression of EphB3 in hepatocellular carcinoma and its relationship with clinical characteristics of patients.Methods:Collecting carcinoma of 44 HCC patients from Wuwei Cancer Hospital in Gansu Province from 2018 to 2022.Normal tissues adjacent to the cancer(more than 2 cm away from the tumor edge)were used as the control group.47 patients with chronic hepatitis B at the same time were collected as the hepatitis group.The liver tissues of these patients were taken through liver puncture biopsy.The expression of EphB3 in the tissues of each group were detected by immunohistochemistry.At the same time,the clinicopathological characteristics of HCC patients were collected to analyze their relationship with the expression of EphB3.Results:The expression of EphB3 in HCC was significantly different from the control group(P＜0.05).The expression of EphB3 in HCC was significantly different from the hepatitis group(P＜0.05).The expression of EphB3 was negatively correlated with the differentiation of liver cancer cells(r=-0.640,P＜0.001).There was no correlation between the expression of EphB3 and age and AFP in patients with HCC(P＞0.05).There was no significant difference in the expression of EphB3 in patients with hepatitis B,cirrhosis,extrahepatic metastasis or single disease(P＞0.05).Conclusion:There is statistically signifiant difference in EphB3 between cancer tissue and adjacent tissue in patients with liver cancer and liver tissue in patients with hepatitis.The expression of EphB3 is negatively proportional to the differentiation degree of liver cancer cells.EphB3 can be used as an indicator of prognosis in patients with HCC.
