Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect and complication of single hole laparoscopic appendectomy in patients with different body mass index. Methods:A total of 142 patients who underwent single-hole laparoscopic appendectomy from May 2021 to May 2023 were selected.Patients were divided into overweight and obese group(62 cases)and normal group(80 cases)according to different preoperative body mass index. The length of umbilical incision, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, addition of auxiliary holes, postoperative exhaust time, hospital stay, time of painkiller use, incision pain and aesthetic score, and postoperative complications were observed in 2 groups. Results:There were significant differences in BMI and WHtR between the two groups(t=18.105,15.005;P<0.05).The length of umbilical incision, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative exhaust gas, hospital stay and increased auxiliary pore ratio in overweight and obese group were significantly higher than those in normal body mass group, with statistically significant difference(t=8.429,5.498,3.605,4.972,5.204;P<0.05;x2=4.095,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications and pathological types of appendix between the two groups(x2=0,0.068;P>0.05).Conclusion:For patients with overweight body mass,single-hole laparoscopic appendectomy has definite effect and no increase in postoperative complications, but the difficulty of the operation is increased. For overweight and obese patients, precise operation should be performed in the operation to facilitate rapid postoperative recovery.
