Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of low-temperature radiofrequency tonsil adenoidectomy with non-invasive positive pressure ventilation in children with severe obstructive sleep apnea(OSA).Methods:38 children with severe OSA admitted to the hospital were enrolled from January 2021 and January 2023.According to random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 19 children in each group. The control group was treated with low-temperature radiofrequency tonsil adenoidectomy, while observation group was additionally treated with non-invasive positive pressure ventilation. The quality of life[disease specific quality of life for children with obstructive sleep apnea 18 items survey(OSA-18)],polysomnography related indexes[the minimum oxygen saturation(LSaO2),apnea hypopnea index(AHI)],curative effect and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.Results:6 months after operation, the OSA-18 scores of the two groups were lower than those before operation(t=4.12,P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group.6 months after operation,LSaO2 in observation group was higher than that in control group, and AHI was lower than that in control group, with statistically significant difference(t=3.327,5.449;P<0.05).6 months after surgery, there was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(X=0.362,P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups(x2=0.362,P>0.05).Conclusion:Low-temperature radiofrequency tonsil adenoidectomy combined with non-invasive positive pressure ventilation can effectively improve LSaO2 and AHI,and improve quality of life in children with severe OSA.
