Predictive Value of Serum Lp-PLA2 and BDNF of Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction for Vascular Dementia

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the predictive value of serum lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2(Lp-PLA2)and brain derived neurotrophin(BDNF)in patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI)for vascular dementia(VaD).Methods:161 ACI patients admitted to the hospital from August 2020 to August 2022 were selected as the disease group, and 161 healthy volunteers who underwent physical examination in the hospital were selected as the control group during the same period. The serum Lp-PLA2 and BDNF levels of all subjects were measured and compared.Patients in the disease group were followed up for 6 months and divided into VaD group and non VaD group based on whether complicated with VaD or not.The serum levels of Lp-PLA2 and BDNF between the VaD group and non VaD group were compared. The influencing factors of VaD in ACI patients was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression, and the predictive value of serum Lp-PLA2 combined with BDNF for VaD in ACI patients was analyzed through receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. Results:Age,infarct size, severe vascular stenosis, serum total cholesterol(TC),C-reactive protein(CRP)and Lp-PLA2 were risk factors for VaD in ACI patients(P<0.05),while serum BDNF was protective factor(P<0.05).The sensitivity, specificity and area under the curve(AUC)of serum Lp-PLA2 combined with BDNF in predicting VaD in ACI patients were 95.45%,81.65%and 0.909 respectively. Conclusion:Both serum Lp-PLA2 and BDNF have certain predictive value for VaD in ACI patients, but their combined predictive value is higher.
