Abstract:Objective:To analyze the situation and influencing factors of social alienation among parents of children with epilepsy, and provide reference basis for clinical intervention. Methods:A convenient sampling method was used to select 162 parents of epilepsy patients diagnosed in the hospital. The general alienation scale was used to investigate the social alienation status among parents of children with epilepsy. The influence of different variables on social alienation was analyzed through univariate factor and multiple linear regression. Results:The social alienation score of 162 parents of children with epilepsy was(46.30±7.25),and the average score of entries was(3.09±0.49).The Self-rating depression scale(SDS)score was(57.66±9.43),and the average score of entries was(2.88±0.34).The disease shame score was(68.73±11.47),and the average score of entries was(2.86±0.39).The social support score was(29.71±6.36),and the average score of entries was(2.97±0.43).SDS and shame scores were positively correlated with all dimensions and total scores of social alienation, while social support scores were negatively correlated with all dimensions and total scores of social alienation(P<0.05).Univariate analysis showed that the gender of parents, the course of illness and the frequency of seizure were the potential influencing factors of social alienation of children's parents(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression showed that parental gender, course of illness, frequency of seizures,SDS,sense of shame and social support rating were all independent influencing factors for parental social alienation in children with epilepsy.Among them, women, frequency of seizures≥1 time/month,SDS,and disease shame were risk factors for social alienation among parents of children with epilepsy. The course of the disease≥3 years(t=-2.316),and social support(t=-2.482)were protective factors for the social alienation among parents of children with epilepsy. Conclusion:Parents of epilepsy patients have a higher social alienation score. In response to the influencing factors of social alienation, clinical, social, and family interventions should be actively carried out to improve the parents'ability to integrate into the family and return to society.
