Relationship Between Negative Emotions,and Psychological Resilience and Social Support Among Family Members of Patients with Severe Stroke in ICU

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the relationship between negative emotions,and psychological resilience and social support of family members of patients with severe stroke in ICU.Methods:A total of 96 patients with severe stroke who were admitted to ICU of the hospital from April 2022 to April 2023,and their family members were selected as the research subjects.The family members'information was collected with the general information questionnaire,the Chinese version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21(DASS-21),the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC)and the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).According to the DASS-21 score,the patients'family members were divided into two groups.The relationship between family members'negative emotions and psychological resilience and social support as well as the influencing factors of family members'negative emotions were analyzed.Results:According to DASS-21 score,56 patients'family members were included in the poor mood group,and 40 patients'family members were included in the good mood group.The scores of CD-RISC and SSRS of family members in good mood group were higher than those in poor mood group,with statistically significant difference(t=2.852,3.074;P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that CD-RISC and SSRS scores were negatively correlated with DASS-21 scores(r=-0.642,-0.568;P<0.05).Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that age,education level,monthly family income,CD-RISC score and SSRS score were the influencing factors of negative emotions of patients'family members(OR=3.885,0.317,0.421,0.218,0.255;P<0.05).Conclusion:Negative emotions of family members of patients with severe stroke in ICU are related to their psychological resilience and social support.Psychological resilience and social support are the influencing factors for negative emotions of family members,in addition to patient age,educational level and monthly family income.
