Abstract:Objective:To compare the therapeutic effect of suture anchor and screw fixation on ankle fracture with lower tibiofibular joint injury. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 68 patients with ankle fracture combined with lower tibiofibular joint injury admitted to the First People's Hospital of Ruzhou City from June 2020 to June 2022.They were divided into group A(34 cases, using screw fixation method)and group B(34 cases, using suture anchor method)according to different treatment methods. The basic surgical information, surgical time and fluoroscopy frequency, surgical time and fluoroscopy frequency, reduction quality, and incidence of complications between two groups of patients with pronation and abduction fractures were compared. Results:Patients successfully completed the surgery, and all patients had grade A healing of the surgical incisions, without any poor healing of the incisions. The screw removal time in group A was less than 12 weeks after surgery, and the screw removal time in group B was not required. The operative time and fluoroscopy times of group B were less than those of group A,and the differences were statistically significant(t=2.780,3.343;P<0.05).Among the patients with pronation external rotation and pronation abduction fracture, the operative time and fluoroscopy times in group B were less than those in group A,and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.257,3.734,2.727,2.380;P<0.05).The anterior incisal distance of lower tibiofibular union in group B was shorter than that in group A,with statistically significant difference(t=3.326,0.756;P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in group B was lower than that in group A,with no statistically significant difference(χ2=2.548,P>0.05).Conclusion:The application of suture anchor nails in the treatment of ankle joint fractures combined with lower tibiofibular syndesmosis injuries can improve the postoperative incision healing, and increase the anatomical reduction rate of the anterior distance between the lower tibiofibular syndesmosis incisions, without increasing the incidence of related complications. The safety is good.
